The moment I saw the list of films being released in 2003, two grabbed my enthusiasm. The first was "Freddy Vs. Jason"; the other was "Pirates of the Caribbean." If I was only going to do two illustrations that year, those were the ones I wanted. And for the latter, an idea immediately came to mind. I pictured Eric and Crispy dressed up to the nines like pirates, patiently waiting to get onto the beloved ride at Disney World. And while I may have glossed over the costume theme, for the most part, the result is as I envisioned it; especially how every time I draw a 'non-Plight' Eric I go for a Japanese anime/manga approach. I can't explain it, but I get a kick seeing them depicted in that style. - Tony
