"Wake-Up Call ("T3: Rise of the Machines")
Although this wasn't the last picture of the season, it was one of the last to be posted, and even then, there was doubt in our minds it would EVER debut in the first place. That's because when Tony and I were collaborating on it, he was on the verge of having a second child and I was in the middle of moving. Even when we were sitting down to pencil it, Tony didn't have enough time to do anything other than sketch out the main figures. And while we both wished all the pictures would be uploaded in chronological order, when we noticed this one wouldn't be done in time, we just moved ahead to the next one; leaving this for a later date.
Two weeks later, I was all unpacked and ready to complete it. But when I went searching for it, I couldn't find it. For the next couple of days I went on a mad hunt hoping to come across it. In the back of my mind I had a pretty good idea what happened, but I refused to believe it. At least, not unless there were no other options. Eventually I saw the light and the next day, I went to the storage facility and climbed through a dozen pieces of furniture, only then to rip through 30 or so boxes (sealed up I might add), just to find one piece of paper. It took four trips in the span of a week until I succeeded.
Griping aside, the picture turned out pretty good, although not in the way I'd expect. Using a different technique, my coloring job transformed it into something that looks cel-shaded. Do I think it's an appropriate style for the tone of the film? Nope (and if you think I'm harsh, you should have heard what Tony thought!). But I'm just happy it's done and came out good enough. - Jake
