"A Little R & R" ("The Island")

Ink Smudges: So, after a long summer fighting aliens, dark Jedi, and playing football with convicts, Jake and I decided it was time for Erik to take a bit of a vacation. The ocean, sands, palm trees, and floating evil robots, ahh... vacations. Wait... WHAT???
Okay, so it seems Erik is never able to get away from it all. And it also seems Jake was still trying to hand me pictures which had absolutely no backgrounds. I mean seriously, he gave me a picture of Erik and a bunch of robots, then had the nerve to say "You can go ahead and draw in a tropical island, you know palm trees and such." I tell you people, I was this close to drawing Erik fighting robots in a brothel full of nekkid Kari's. This close! And then he went and gave me the picture the same week the new Harry Potter book came out knowing I would be spending every bit of my free time reading and ignoring the PSBG. Well, I finished it in record time, and decided to give an afternoon or two to finishing this picture.
It is kind of odd we can take a relatively simple picture and turn out something cool like we did. Once again we topped the previous entry and was well on our way to making this the best gallery season we ever did. - Tony
Pencil Marks: Ha! Silly Tony!
See, what he 'accidentally' forgot to mention was to give him this picture on time, I (being car-less at the time) had to get up at 6 in the morning, take three buses to reach the Mall of America (which took almost three hours total) then walk about 4 miles to his house. Oh sure, I had my own reasons for doing it too because he was supposed to have a picture for me to ink as well. But when I got there, he hadn't even started on it! And when he did do one, it only had Erik and Crispie sitting on a couple of chairs with a tiny simplistic sign in the background. I know, I know - at least he had a background so I shouldn't complain. And hey, it got done, right? So, if there was anybody to feel sorry for about this whole ordeal, it was Tony because it was rude for me to interfere with his 'Harry Potter' time.
No. Really. I felt sorry for the guy.
There's a lot of pages in that book. Every minute counted.
We're talking Harry Potter here! The movie wouldn't be out for at least another couple of years!
You know, I bet if I drew him in a brothel with a bunch of nude Kari's (because that goes along with the whole plot "The Island" thinly ripped off from "Parts: The Clonus Horror"), the dude wouldn't have complained one iota.
Certain horny guys who visited our website would have loved it.
$5 says someone will do that now that I've mentioned the idea.
And people wonder why I was on Fluoxetine. -Jake
