An appropriate sub-title to this picture would be "Much Ado about Chests".
Some people automatically assumed when I drew a chest scar on Frump, I was playfully mocking my friend since Tony had one in real life. Thing is the scar was his idea. This was the first illustration ever drawn of the pudgy green guy not wearing a shirt and when I showed Tony the finished inks to this homage, he suggested adding it in. He wanted all his creations to have a little piece of himself represented in some way. For Frump, it was an untold story which caused him to wind up with a chest scar.
Another comment we received was the disparity of Erik's costume. We were asked if his uniform were so restrictive to the point his belly button was prominent, wouldn't his nipples be featured as well? Perhaps, but as the artist, I feel he's pulling the fabric outward with both of his hands which prevents more features to the upper half of his body to be outlined. Otherwise yes, and if I was a better artist, his nipples would have been shown as well.
Oh, and there might have been some chatter about Kari's uniform. Just a brief word or two. Or ten. - Jake
