"Passionate Couples Embarass Students"

I completely forgot about this; I really did.
For the entire time I was a student at Hopkins Senior High School, I was on the school's newspaper staff as a reporter and a circulation manager. For my junior and senior year, and more important to this website, I was its sole editorial cartoonist. Man, I can remember being scaried every month having to come up with a new idea that had to tie in with the issue's Editoral/Opinion column. Sometimes I came up with a brillant idea; other times it was passable. But this one had the most people come up to me saying: "God, I know exactly what you mean!"
The funny thing is I can remember every single one to this day, but somehow in the back of my mind, I never thought I ever used Erik or Kari. As stupid as it sounds, I was afraid someone would rip my ideas off, so I had a rule never to hint at anything that involved my comic.
So you can pretty much figure out my reaction when more than twelve years later, one of my former classmates brought this to my attention.
I guess I was wrong. Erik and Kari HAVE been published. And anyone who has a copy of this extremely rare issue still is holding onto something that might one day be worth a fortune (geez, get a load of my inflated ego!).
Interesting and weird sidenote: not only did the photo poll below it have two individuals named Eric and Kari, but on the accompanied page there's an ad for a store called "Everyday Hero" that talks about the "plight of the homeless". Just thought I'd mention that. - Jake
