"Standing Vigilant"

Tony was proud of this picture which he liked to call his "Lethal Weapon" Plight piece.
Now I admit it's a pretty good piece, but Tony liked it so much the first time I saw this wasn't in its original drawn format or posted across a computer screen. No, it was on a full color 8x11 printed copy preserved in thick 10 mil laminate which he gifted to me. Sure, he tried to modestly brush off any praise by claiming he was goofing around one night at Kinkos and decided to use the company's materials for no practical reasons. And it's entirely possible he was telling the truth. But it still doesn't change the fact my introduction to this picture was already prepared to be displayed at the Smithsonian. He liked it. he didn't laminate any of his other pin-ups, and he felt compelled to protect it forever.
Funny thing is, I still have it! - Jake
