"Modern Diva" ("The Devil Wears Prada")
During this particular movie season, there was a little film entitled "A Prairie Home Companion" which was released into an average number of theaters across the country. Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot of enthusiasm from people to go see it so, no surprise, two weeks later the movie disappeared from theaters screens completely.
Now, seeing as I was born and raised in Minnesota, perhaps I could have done a homage to it. I didn't. To be honest, I really didn't feel there was any need for me to. But I quickly discovered my mistake because for a solid month afterwards I was constantly harassed at work by my coworkers who also happen to be huge Lindsey Lohan fans for letting a movie co-starring Lindsey go unnoticed. In their twisted obsessive minds, it was a big deal and I blew it.
Fast forward three months later when I was so late on updating the gallery, the films were almost being released on DVD. Some of our regulars at the Plightsite website were growing impatient and on top of that, my co-workers handed me an ultimatum to NOT allow an Anne Hathaway movie slip through the cracks. Apparently, they wore many fangirl hats. Didn't matter the film reeked of box-office failure; I could not commit the same act of sin in front of their eyes twice in one season.
So, against all better knowledge I agreed to do a picture based on "The Devil Wears Prada" and as an added bonus, worked it into one of the requests I received as my way of apologizing for all the inconvenience I caused that season. - Jake
