"Kari Athens and the Cradle of Life" ("Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life")
As much as Tony and I saw this as a joint project, we were always excited when other talent wanted to contribute. Sure, it took some of the weight off our shoulders so we didn't have to do as many homages. We won't deny that. But whenever any of our artistic friends wanted to join in on the fun, Tony and I welcomed them with open arms. If they had an idea for a film they really wanted to do and it involved the Plight characters in some manner, they had our blessing to go wild. Such was the case with my long-time internet friend Alex Tam.
He sent me an e-mail one night saying he had a dream where Lara Croft was searching for the Holy Grail and, just like in his illustration, she found it in a baby basket. What he didn't include was the paper-cut out God from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" telling Lara she must face incredible peril in order to retrieve it.
"You should draw that in your gallery, Jake. No, wait! I should draw that in your gallery! I want to draw that in your gallery. Can I?"
As if he had to twist our arm. - Jake
