"Sticky Situation" ("Spider-Man")

The first year of the gallery was, in my opinion, a great success. Not only did we complete what we set out to do, but also improved our skills. Looking back, I saw a lot of things I liked but also a lot of things I wanted to change. It's as they often say: there is no greater critic than the artist himself.
With that in mind, one of the things I wanted to see done for our sophomore year, and something Jake succeeded with a few of his pieces, was 'expanding' an idea based on the movies that previous summer. I had numerous pictures of Plight as if he were 'in' the movies, but none which adapted the basis of the movie into the Plight universe. Which brings us to "Sticky Situations".
Using the "Just Imagine Stan Lee Creating..." comic book series for DC back in the late '90s as inspiration, I thought if there was a character in the Plight world named "Spider-Man", what would he look like? I've always been fascinated by half human / half beast creatures such as Centaurs and Minotaurs. And since I've never actually seen a "spider man", I thought what the hell. Do I feel the piece is the best I've ever done? Not really. Looking at it now, the illustration seems bare. But I am pleased with my version of "Spider-Man" and satisfied enough he came out better than I imagined. - Tony
