Frankie Foster

I'll admit right now: this picture was kind of a cop-out because it's based on a sketch I already did of Frankie; the teenage housekeeper from "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends" where monsters created by kids who outgrew them live in hopes of being adopted by new owners. The original belonged to my niece after she told me how much she really liked it. Unfortunately two minutes later after giving it to her, her younger brother accidentally ripped it. But she kept it all the same.
So when it came down to doing a new picture of Frankie Foster, even though I wanted to try something different, I couldn't shake liking what I did beforehand more than all of my other ideas. Why? I don't know. It certainly wasn't due to laziness - I spent more time reconstructing what I drew than if I had just gone back to square one. It would have been much more easier, not to mention faster. But this was the one I wanted to do. Of course it's not exactly the same. Her shape is much more accurate to her thin television counterpart. I also managed to draw her t-shirt design right this time (last time I drew another monster, Bloo, on it). And speaking of which, I decided to bring Bloo in on the action. Out of all the monsters on the cartoon, he is the easiest one to depict. And yet, last time I chose to leave him out. Go figure.
Of course, if she wants, Katie can keep this one too. - Jake
