"Into Action"
When I first explained Plight to Alex, he wondered about the overall scope of the series; where I saw the characters go past the initial first issue. After I told him, a few weeks later I received pages upon pages of drawings and sketches, all double-sided, touching on some of the ideas I shared. Some of his illustrations were more detailed than others, but he gave me a rough outline of how I could go about certain elements visually. He even went so far as to create a possible letterhead of Plight for an accompanied memo.
And then there was this drawing, based on a picture I sent him for reference. I had no idea he would take it and do his own version. Needless to say, his homage is so much better. It's interesting to point out this was when I was still figuring out Kari's look and had given her a striped hairdo similar to Rogue in the "X-Men". But when I realized it made her appear much older than she's suppose to be (not to mention I was unconsciously plagarizing Marvel), I dropped it. Leave it to Alex though to give it a shot and retain her youthful appearance. Just goes to show I have much to learn. - Jake
