"The Banned Plight Drawing"
Hidden Fact about Comic Fans #24: virtually every kid who grew up reading superhero comic books developed some morals from them. It's true. Ask any fan and if that person says otherwise, he or she is a straight-out butt face liar. If they were into the DC Comics or the Marvels, then they were feeding themselves some important life values; no matter how corny or childish that sounds.
For example, when I was young and reading pretty good on my own, I made the most startling discoveries. It turned out Bruce Wayne became the Batman because some crook killed his parents with a gun. And Spiderman turned into a good guy after somebody fatally shot his Uncle Ben. The Punisher's family was gunned down by mobsters. The Joker crippled Batgirl when he shot her in the legs. And.... well, you get the idea. Comic book heroes were full of histories involving somebody getting shot. It's the oldest clique in the book. And so I learned at a very early age that guns were bad.
Now, I've fired a couple of rifles in my lifetime. I even pulled the trigger of a .35 once. But even now at the age of 30, I still have a distaste for guns; no matter what the reason is. I don't see the point.
And that's why this is called the "Banned Plight Drawing", as if you needed my explaination. - Jake
