"Rise of Impetus"

For a while now Jake and I have been getting submissions from many unknown artists out there who apparently like our characters and want to have some of their art posted on our glorious web-site. The only problem is 99.9% of the time the picture is of Kari and she is in some state of undress. Not running a porn website we've always thanked the artists and asked them to resubmit something more tastefull.
Then Jake took that a couple extra steps. See a little while ago he posted a series of "rules" for art that we would accept. Things like "No Nudity" or "No Characters Being Murdered", "Nothing Too Vulgar"... keep things PG-13 in milder terms. Well being the scoundrel that I am I immediately saw these rules as more of a challenge. I mean how dare Jake put those kinds of restrictions on me? Seriously.
Gauntlet thrown down the above image popped into my head. Gore and all. I just felt it was something that had to be done, I mean I'm not a total rule-breaker, but geez - it felt like I was being stifled on a leash or something.
This picture was pretty much completed a few weeks before posting with one major hiccup keeping me from "finishing" it - the background. I spent many a night and day trying to figure out the perfect background that would go with the picture. Do I set it in a graveyard? Or resort to my old standby "Park"? Without a proper background the picture just wouldn't work, and I really didn't want to reach into my generic bag of tricks and pull out a couple grassy knolls and trees in the distance. Yet after beating myself I still couldn't find a "perfect" setting, so I settled for what we see. The house is based on this creepy place that is near my dad's trailer in Wisconsin - a place my daughter and nieces are always so spooked to go near, so I guess it does sort of fit the vibe.
To be completely honest I wish I could've found that awesome back drop, but what I have works almost as well. Enjoy!
PS. - And no... this picture is NOT a part of the official Plight Cannon. Just a pin-up "what-if". And if you need to know the background for it... beg Jake to re-post his Impetus work. - Tony
