"Kitty Kat" ("Catwoman")
Sometimes I like to torment folks who visit the website. Out of all the characters we feature, it comes to no surprise Erik‘s well-endowed girlfriend ranks up as being one of the more popular. Now I have drawn some rather T&A pictures of Kari over the years and sometimes while homaging a movie in the gallery it makes sense to feature her in them like that. But every once in awhile I purposely go against what the public would expect and not use her at all, which is what I did when covering the Halle Berry’s “Catwoman” film.
People were expecting a sexy picture of Kari in a very revealing leather outfit (be it Berry’s shredded get-up or even Julie Newmar’s classic suit in the Adam West “Batman” TV show). Instead what they were given was burned-up Crispie looking as sultry as a charred corpse could possibly look in skin-tight leather.
Some folks were disappointed in me and asked I re-do the illustration (“done right” I remember one e-mail demanding) but by then I had already moved on to the next pic. However I also pointed out that if anyone else felt like drawing up Kari as the sinister feline cat burglar, I would gladly post it up.
Now Wonkeaux didn’t have any problems with my original picture, but even he felt I did the fans a little disservice. So three weeks later, some people got their request granted and Kari appeared as Catwoman ala the 1990‘s Jim Balent comic version. - Jake
