The Finer Details (MacGruber)
Lead & Ink: This Summer season has been an odd one. Ideas for films that we plan on doing are hard to come by, yet movies that we plan on skipping entirely the ideas just pop. MacGruber was one of those pictures.
For a while now I've been looking back at some of my older works in the Gallery and wishing I could just go back and use a mulligan. The Star Wars Episode 2 picture for one. That horrid Spiderman one for another. The idea for my newest picture actually came from looking at one of my worst drawings: The Sum of All Fears. I had a good idea - but my laziness and quick nature produced something that should never have been posted in the first place. Looking at that pic makes me want to just go back in time and slap myself. Since I don't have a time machine - this picture of Erik and MacGruber attempting to diffuse a bomb will just have to do.
The funny thing is I honestly had this idea well before the flick was released in theaters and actually DID bomb. I had planned on doing it up and posting it during the proper week, but a bout with a spring cold kinda put that out of the question. But the idea for the pinup never left my head. So this week I finally got around to putting the final touches on it.
The thing I like most about this one is that it actually came out better than I was planning. And its always nice when that occurs. - Tony
