"Modern Diva" ("The Devil Wears Prada")
During this particular movie season, there was a little film entitled "Prairie Home Companion" which was released into an average number of theaters across the country. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of enthusiasm from people to go see it so it came as no surprise when two weeks later the movie disappeared from screen completely. Now seeing as I was born and raised in Minnesota, perhaps I could have done a homage to it. But I didn't. To be honest, I really didn't feel there was any need for me to.
I quickly discovered my mistake because for a solid month soon after I was constantly harassed at work for letting a movie co-starring Lindsey Lohan go unnoticed. It was, I guess, a really big deal and I blew it.
Fast forward to three months later. I became extremely late on the gallery updates to the point that the films were almost being released on DVD. Some of the regulars to the website were growing impatient and on top of that, my co-workers handed me down an ultimatum to NOT allow an Anne Hathaway movie to slip through the cracks. Doesn't matter that the film reeks of box-office failure; I could not commit the same act of sin twice in one season.
So against all better knowledge I agreed to do a picture based on "The Devil Wears Prada" and as an added bonus, work it into one of the requests I received as my way of apologizing for all the inconvenience I caused that season. - Jake
