"Scandal" ("Mr. And Mrs. Smith")
Pencil Marks: The only reason this picture came out great is because of Tony. I might have drawn the original penciled picture, but the inking and the idea of it being a tabloid was all my co-hort's doing. See, up until a week prior to its debut, I had drawn a comic page of Erik and Kari fighting with each other in different situations (ala 'Spy Vs. Spy'). But just when I was about to hand it off to Tony, it dawned on me my characters were using guns on each other. That was a problem since I promised there'd be no more guns involved in any pictures I'm involved with.
Needless to say, Tony was ticked, TICKED I passed off just a pin-up of the two of them brawling. To my defense, my original had them fighting over the last ice cream sandwich but Tony wisely removed it (or maybe it just hit too close to home *hee hee*). I have to admit I laughed pretty hard when I saw the end result. So yeah, any compliments for this should be directed his way.
Oh, and before people start sending me hate mail, check out this public service announcement. - Jake
Ink Smudges: During the beginning of filming of "Mr. And Mrs. Smith", tabloids ran rampant with tales of Brad and Angelina falling for each other, even though at the time Mr. Pitt was still married (happily) to Jenifer Aniston. Then as the film wrapped and the new year came, Jenifer and Brad called it quits, causing the world of gossip to explode in an orgasm of information, rumors and half truths not seen since the days of Ben Affleck and Jen Lopez. So as I originally sat at my computer typing this rambling I was listening to a news report on CNN (CNN PEOPLE!! CNN!!!) about the so-called "new couple" Brad and Angelina. It was really getting out of hand.
So when Jake handed me the new picture for "Mr. And Mrs. Smith" I felt it was necessary to comment, not only on the movie, but also the hoopla surrounding the film. Call it a comment about that point in time. And since Jake handed me a picture COMPLETELY different from the one he had been talking about for a month, I honestly didn't have any choice!
All in all I like the way this one turned out. Funny stuff. -Tony
