"Tens and Tens of Dollars" ("Troy")

I went through a lot of ideas for "Troy" before settling on this one. And when it was finished, I was pretty sure this shouldn’t have been the winner.
It's not a bad piece; trying to make a mega blockbuster piece on a shoe-string budget. It's absurd and the Roman influence is present. I got to whine about handling the gallery alone that year (when I debuted “Monster Hunter E“, I made a vow I would never speak of it for Tony‘s sake, but for this one time I thought it added to the joke). And it was more closer to a theme than the other thoughts that went through my head. But still - I feel I could have been more creative. Who knows, maybe I'm just being hard on myself and reaching for something that wasn't there.
One thing that was hard on me was the quality of the pen I used, or rather lack of. Half-way through the inking process, it acted like it had a mind of its own. No ink one moment; too much ink the next. No matter what angle or how much pressure I put on it, the damn thing refused to cooperate.
But hey, it came out looking decent and debuting on time, so no complaints. - Jake
