"Pose for the Camera"

This drawing was inspired one night when Wonkeux and I were talking about pin-up girls from the 1950s. I didn't know much about the subject except I was all too familiar with of one of the most famous faces from that era: Betty Page. You see, I am a very big fan of "The Rocketeer" by Dave Stevens and one of the characters in that series has more than a passsing resemblance to the late Ms. Page (so much so the character's name is even named Betty). Now if anyone has ever had the opportunity to read that series, there's one page that is without question one of the most memorable pieces of art Dave Stevens ever drew. It is the one image that practically any fan of either the Rocketeer or of Dave Stevens will imediately think of when Betty Page is mentioned. And that proved to be absolutely true when the first thing that came up upon Ms. Page's name was that scene in Chapter 4.
But getting back to this picture. Wonkeaux was inspired by our talk that just for the sake of it he depicted what Kari would look like in a cheesecake pose. It's not as risque as that scene in "The Rocketeer" but that's just fine with me. - Jake
