Sehera # 1
"Head Explody"

It was a windy day in June of 2001 when a beautiful and intelligent young woman named "Sehera" walked into my life in the most unexpected way. Our first encounter was bizzare to say the least. She was a Kay Bee Toys employee who came into Brookstone looking for a gift and no more than three minutes later, we found ourselves hanging out at the mall taking personality tests, buying CDs solely on the cover art, flipping through issues of "Heavy Metal" magazine, and pretty much acting like we had been friends for years. What made it so incredibly strange was just how opposite we were to each other; in interests, clothing, practically everything! It was as if we were from two separate worlds. But from that day on we became good friends and when Brookstone was in dire need to hiring some new people, I didn't have to think twice on offering Sehera a job.
However we weren't completely opposite. As you could probably guess, one of the few things we mutually enjoyed was illustrating (although even our styles were yin and yang). She'd always show me things she had done and I'd do the same. So it was no surprise when we just decided one day to pool our talents together which resulted in this very skewed, but fun, piece. Everything in red was handled by Sehera while I was responsible for everything in blue. And we had so much fun with this image that we wound up collaborating on a regular basis. - Jake
