I've received some pretty nice birthday gifts in my time, but I wasn't expecting the one Alex Tam sent me one year. He had gone to a local comic convention and among all the writers and artists there was a gentleman by the name of Steve Sadowski. Mr. Sadowski was rapidly becoming a hot artist at the time for his work on a series called "JSA" for DC Comics. And though I'm not sure how it got started, it wound up that Mr. Sadowski came up with the idea of making me a card with Plight on the front.
As soon as I opened the package up, I was completely surprised. There in my hands was a piece of art done by a well-known comic book artist doing my character! And I had Alex to thank for it! It's a gift that I'm still touched to have received years later. - Jake
